Mitchfynde A very similar record when compared to "The Burl". That being said, the surreal aspects on this record are amplified. Another great psychedelic doom experience that will leave you feeling uneasy! Favorite track: Flowers.
Russell Whyman

Russell Whyman This is a very well done and very musical metal album. No growling unintelligible vocals either. The vocalist sounds a little like Ozzy but pushed further down into the mix.

Another reviewer described Ice Dragon as a combination of Sabbath's doomy and psychedelic sides. I think that very well describes them. I have been a Sabbath fan for many, many years and as such wholeheartedly recommend them.

Their tags even include 'stoner'. How can they fail :o)

Flowers 08:02
when they bury me when my head pours into the ground my thoughts will all grow flowers sprouting out all around some will be violet and yellow and green and others will only be black they'll tell my life's story to all who walk by and there will be no hidden facts don't be suprised if the flowers all have your eyes and for petals your long flowing hair and though you'd like to pick them i'd rather you just left them there when i said i loved you the flowers all turned red when i broke your heart they all went pale instead when we kissed the sun shone through in yellow when i did you wrong the blackness crept in from below (chorus repeats) when i am dead and i am buried in a long wooden box alone with nothing but the dirt myself, and my thoughts i will grow a mighty tree straight out of my heart i will grow a mighty tree straight out of my heart and the fruit will bear your name and it will grow forever strong forever strong

i'll go low and you'll go high i'll sink into the ground and you'll float up to the sky wings made of wax or wings made of stone they either melt in the sun or they're too heavy to hold from time to time you'll reach down to help me out but all i'll ever do is look up at you in doubt wings made of wax or wings made of stone they either melt in the sun or they're too heavy to hold

about

"Imagine if Black Sabbath combined their heavy and psychedelic sides – they tended to toggle between those modes rather than combine them – and took even more drugs, and turned everything up into screaming, red-lined peaks. They then came down hard and also wrote pretty acoustic songs – not those bullshit interludes, but real, actual songs."

- Invisible Oranges (Cosmo Lee)

"Due to the great variety of sounds this album, as the previous album by Ice Dragon, is very heavy but not “monolithic”. Strangely enough, though, in spite of the frequent use of intimate, acoustic parts, Ice Dragon fixes as a “heavy” band in your mind. The sounds tremble in the void and are distorted and “dirty”, dense, three-dimensional, enveloping you like a dense fog due to a cave-like effect of the mixing/production. Even the acoustic parts and tracks are anything but flat, they are physically refreshing like breaths of night breeze."

- Doommantia (Marilena Moroni)
